I promised you, a blog or two ago, that I would post my business BOLD GOAL for you to witness. Well, here goes (insert a ‘super gulp’ here): My business bold financial goal for 2010 is to break through the 6-figure imaginary threshold that I’ve kept myself well within for the past decade. 6 figures is over double what I’ve been making over the past few years. The original number I had in mind when I wrote the goal was $125,000 but, then, I got thinkin’ … that’s quite a comfortable number for me (as in, it doesn’t make me gulp, or scare the you-know-what out of me). What’s the point of a comfortable number? It doesn’t stretch the boundaries of my imagination and, therefore, doesn’t create a lot of incentive. And, by not stretching my boundaries, it doesn’t cause me to grow at any level. If I’m not growing and evolving, what am I doing? So, I chose a new number: $275,000. I decided that I may as well continue a little past the line if I’m going to cross it! That number causes me to both gulp and scares the you-know-what out of me at the same time. Therefore, it stands to reason, that I will be putting a lot more effort into my business this year! By the way, I didn’t see any ‘comments’ or ‘posts’ from any of you with any of your bold goals. I know you’re reading this. Come on out of the closet, people! Post it here. It doesn’t matter what the number is, simply that it needs to stretch you a little and take you out of your comfort zone. This is not a place to compare your number with others. It’s a place to ‘bring it to life’ for your business. Let others see what you’re planning. Tell the universe you’re serious. Go ahead. I’m waiting … ++++ Did you request your ‘FREE GIFT’ to you at my website: http://www.SueCrutcher.com ? I’ve recorded an hour long information-packed audio “5 steps you can take now to ensure that 2010 is a profitable year for you and your business.” It’s yours for the asking. Want to know a little more, check out the top two testimonials on the upper right of the home page. ++++ Despite all the wonderful meals during Christmas (and New Year’s), I’ve managed to hold my weight – another coup! Perhaps, it has something to do with the ‘blue moon’ last night and a little bit with consciously choosing what I ate and enjoyed. Admittedly, New Year’s eve was waaayy too much food – a four-course dinner at a fancy dining room while listening to live music. As Grandma (88) was with us, we chose the early sitting and got back home in time to see Canada win in Junior Hockey; watch a slideshow of my brother-in-law’s family trip to Laos and Grandma’s trip to France and England with her 2 boys; then, the traditional ‘Dick Clark’ ball in New York countdown. It was a lovely evening and a great way to start the new year. ++++ I’ve spent quite a few hours this past week deciding what to update on my www.SueCrutcher.com website; delegating those tasks to my webmaster (it’s such a pleasure to have a small ‘team’ now – which began in January 2009); and overseeing the placement of my FREE GIFT “5 simple steps you can take now to ensure that 2010 is a profitable year for you and your business.” We figured out how to work the autoresponders and are very pleased. My order for postcards and business cards for my upcoming week in Tucson, where I will be spending time with Kendall Summerhawk as one of her ‘Platinum Inner Circle’ participants, came in just in the nick of time (new year’s eve). 2010 has begun and I’ve already added a new member to my ‘team’ just today! So, I’m up to 3: a bookkeeper, webmaster and transcriber. This time last year, I only imagined having a ‘team’, now I’m on my way -- only 365 days later! So much in so little time… Reminder: If you don’t hear from me before January 15 or so, it’s because I simply got caught up in the last minute details of preparing to leave January 4 for Tucson. Due to airline restrictions, I'm leaving my laptop at home to make my journey through the airports a little easier. I’ll be meeting friends and acquaintances in Tucson and meeting lots of new people as well. You’ll hear all about it when I get back! I can’t wait to find out what’s in store for us at Kendall’s “Platinum Inner Circle” live event. FREE GIFT – for you and your business
I trust you are having a wonderful holiday season with family and friends!
We have my husband’s mother and his brother from Calgary here until New Year’s; our son stayed for 3 days (this is a very long time for him); my parents were over for Christmas day dinner; and our daughter is in Thailand until mid-January this year.
I’ll get back to the regular theme on the posts near the end of the week. And, for those who have been reading the posts sequentially: YES, I have my bold goal written down – and, I’ve publicly posted it in our ‘coaching group’ on line so it is out there gaining momentum. Last night, as I did some office clean-up, I realized how the ‘bold goal’ was already working (and very well, I must say!) My goal will be there for you by January 1. I’m warning you, it’s a bit of a stretch for me and it may be quite a shock for some of you – so, psyche up!
In the spirit of the season, I have created FREE GIFT (a 1 hour audio report) for you…

I remember my first Christmas adventure with Grandma. I was just a kid. I remember tearing across town on my bike to visit her on the day my big sister dropped the bomb: "There is no Santa Claus," she jeered. "Even dummies know that!"
My Grandma was not the gushy kind, never had been. I fled to her that day because I knew she would be straight with me. I knew Grandma always told the truth, and I knew that the truth always went down a whole lot easier when swallowed with one of her "world-famous" cinnamon buns. I knew they were world-famous, because Grandma said so. It had to be true.
Grandma was home, and the buns were still warm. Between bites, I told her everything.
She was ready for me. "No Santa Claus?" She snorted...."Ridiculous! Don't believe it. That rumor has been going around for years, and it makes me mad, plain mad!! Now, put on your coat, and let's go."
"Go? Go where, Grandma?" I asked. I hadn't even finished my second world-famous cinnamon bun.
"Where" turned out to be Kerby's General Store, the one store in town that had a little bit of just about everything. As we walked through its doors, Grandma handed me ten dollars. That was a bundle in those days. "Take this money," she said, "and buy something for someone who needs it. I'll wait for you in the car." Then she turned and walked out of Kerby's.
I was only eight years old. I'd often gone shopping with my mother, but never had I shopped for anything all by myself. The store seemed big and crowded, full of people scrambling to finish their Christmas shopping. For a few moments I just stood there, confused, clutching that ten-dollar bill, wondering what to buy, and who on earth to buy it for. I thought of everybody I knew: my family, my friends, my neighbors, the kids at school, and the people who went to my church.
I was just about thought out, when I suddenly thought of Bobby Decker. He was a kid with bad breath and messy hair, and he sat right behind me in Mrs. Pollock's second grade class. Bobby Decker didn't have a coat. I knew that because he never went out to recess during the winter. His mother always wrote a note, telling the teacher that he had a cough, but all us kids knew that Bobby Decker didn't have a cough; he didn't have a good coat.
I fingered the ten-dollar bill with growing excitement. I would buy Bobby Decker a coat! I settled on a red corduroy one that had a hood to it. It looked real warm, and he would like that.
"Is this a Christmas present for someone?" the lady behind the counter asked kindly, as I laid my ten dollars down.
"Yes, ma'am," I replied shyly. "It's for Bobby."
The nice lady smiled at me, as I told her about how Bobby really needed a good winter coat. I didn't get any change, but she put the coat in a bag, smiled again, and wished me a Merry Christmas.
That evening, Grandma helped me wrap the coat in Christmas paper and ribbons and wrote, "To Bobby, From Santa Claus" on it (a little tag fell out of the coat and Grandma tucked it in her Bible). Grandma said that Santa always insisted on secrecy. Then she drove me over to Bobby Decker's house, explaining as we went that I was now and forever officially one of Santa's helpers.
Grandma parked down the street from Bobby's house, and she and I crept noiselessly and hid in the bushes by his front walk. Then Grandma gave me a nudge. "All right, Santa Claus," she whispered, "get going."
I took a deep breath, dashed for his front door, threw the present down on his step, pounded his door and flew back to the safety of the bushes and Grandma. Together we waited breathlessly in the darkness for the front door to open. Finally it did, and there stood Bobby.
Fifty years haven't dimmed the thrill of those moments spent shivering beside my Grandma, in Bobby Decker's bushes. That night, I realized that those awful rumors about Santa Claus were just what Grandma said they were: ridiculous. Santa was alive and well and we were on his team.
I still have the Bible, with the coat tag tucked inside: $19.95.
May you always have LOVE to share.
And may you always believe in the magic of Santa Claus!
